This Privacy Policy explains how Delias Apps ("we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use Houzi: Learn Chinese HSK (the "App").

1. Overview

Houzi: Learn Chinese HSK is a Chinese learning app with HSK vocabulary, grammar, radicals, sounds, handwriting sheets, mini-games, and phrasebooks. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to provide your name, phone number, or email address in order to use the App.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores certain data locally on your device so core features can work properly. This may include:

• learning progress, XP, levels, streaks, and review status;
• selected language, theme, and app preferences;
• daily reminder settings;
• saved folders, pinned items, and custom word collections;
• handwriting sheets, tags, page settings, and exported sheet metadata;
• cached learning resources and character stroke data.

This local data is primarily stored on-device. If your device backups are enabled through Apple, some app data may also be included in your device backup according to Apple's settings.

3. Analytics

In release versions of the App, we use AppMetrica to understand how the App is used and to improve stability and product quality.

Analytics may include events and technical information such as:

• app opens and screen usage;
• language setting and visit counts;
• interactions with reminder prompts and similar in-app flows;
• device type, operating system version, app version, and other technical diagnostics;
• identifiers and technical data made available by the platform or analytics SDK.

We do not use analytics to identify you by name. However, third-party analytics providers may process technical information under their own privacy terms.

4. Character Stroke Data and Network Requests

The App includes local stroke-order assets for many Chinese characters. If a character is not available locally, the App may request character stroke data from a third-party CDN hosting Hanzi Writer data.

When this happens, the provider may receive technical request data such as your IP address, request metadata, and the specific character file requested.

5. Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, the App uses Apple's local notification framework to schedule reminders on your device. These reminders are created locally and do not require you to create an account.

You can disable notifications at any time in the App or in your device settings.

6. Exporting and Sharing

The App allows you to export handwriting sheets and share them using the iOS share sheet. When you choose to share exported content, the selected destination app or service will handle that content according to its own privacy practices.

We do not upload your handwriting sheets or exported files to our own servers as part of normal app use.

7. How We Use Information

We use information processed by the App to:

• provide learning features and save your progress;
• show reminders if you enable them;
• improve app performance, usability, and reliability;
• maintain cached resources for faster loading.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only in the following cases:

• with service providers that support app functionality, such as analytics or content delivery providers;
• when you explicitly export or share content using platform share features;
• if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
• to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the App.

9. Data Retention

Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the App. Cached files may also remain on the device until cleared by the system or overwritten by the App.

Data processed by third-party providers, such as analytics services, is retained according to their own policies.

10. Your Choices

• You can stop using the App at any time.
• You can disable notifications in your device settings.
• You can delete the App to remove local app data from your device, subject to device backup settings.
• You can avoid using export/share features if you do not want data passed to third-party apps.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe personal information from a child has been provided to us, please contact us and we will review the request.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party services or frameworks, including:

• Apple iOS system frameworks and notification services;
• AppMetrica for analytics;
• third-party hosting/CDN services for character stroke data when local assets are unavailable.

13. Security

We take reasonable steps to reduce privacy and security risks. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
